Please could I ask you to review it one more time, before I send the unit back (this'll be the 3rd one to go back, with the previous brand new replacement also showing a different unrelated fault).Ĭan you suggest a better more reliable station - checking your signature I see you have a Maplin weather station, but on closer inspection it looks like a rebranded Fine offset? However, as you will see, some of them still DO read 00 00. I've checked the "debug log" option and attached the log from the last half an hour - it looks different to before and not all of the last two set of digits are zero. So from this point on the only way to change any settings in the base unit is to pull the battery, and start again from scratch. From this point on Easy Weather does not allow anything to be typed in the "Absolute pressure" box (in System>setup), and if the figure is an out of range value, the settings can't be saved and exited because Easy Weather says "Please enter a number between 5"). (Not sure whether relevant but after the readings have gone out of sync in Cumulus, they are also out of sync in Easy Weather). Then after leaving for a whilst then restarting cumulus, cumulus either says there is an error, produces a bug report then closes down OR logs an error which reads something like "Station is not initialised" Cumulus reports that data has just been read (seconds ago), but the readings displayed look like those from when it was first plugged in.

It seems that after leaving the unit running and plugged in to the PC running Cumulus, after some time the readings on the base unit start to go out of sync with those on Cumulus. However, there are still problems which all seem to point towards logger problems. So I was able to set the logging interval and units set successfully. I managed to get the station talking to Easy Weather properly again, by pulling the batteries from the base unit and re-installing Easy Weather. Since your last post I've been trying different things. Thanks in advance, Mike Brooks, Durham UK I'd appreciate any help with my issues - initially I'd like to rule out a hardware problem as the 1st base unit replacement was faulty. I'll also attach the "debug.txt" log from the original installation (Win XP) to see if that will shed any light on my issue.

I'll attach the "diags" folder from the new installation I have set up on the Windows 7 PC I've read that the clock not being set correctly can cause problems, (or being in the wrong format) but the clock has always been set correctly (as far as I know). However, when easy weather opened up the base unit readings and Easy Weather readings also do not match (as with Cumulus). I thought that maybe the logging interval setting needed to be set / checked in Easyweather, so I closed down cumulus and ran easyweather.

On the rare occasions it does download data, the readings do not match what is displayed on the base unit.

Sometimes it won't download any data and most of the readings are "0" or "999". (I am on Windows 7 but installed to C:\cumulus). I tried this and started getting some strange behaviour.

Then later I could try and integrate my historical data, once it is behaving.

I thought this could be a problem with using a new station with old data so did not take this any further - I decided to install a new version of cumulus on another PC to at least see it work "from scratch". On the original cumulus installation (containing all my history) cumulus wouldn't run and produced a "debug.txt" report then closed down. When I plugged it in I started getting problems straight away. I had an issue with my fine offset WH1080 (internal humidity sensor fault) so I sent it back and got a brand new replacement.
